Today marks the third anniversary of the day that the state of California began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. The couple in this picture is one of many that got married on that day and in the months that followed (and many of them have been featured in this blog). Months later, equality ended with the passage of Proposition 8. So it is a bittersweet anniversary.
